Principal IPU Engineer

Overview

Murray McIntosh are currently searching for an Principal IPU Engineer to work for a key client of ours as detailed below:

We are looking for someone who has strong technical experience as well as experience in leading a small team. Ideally you will come from an engine background but if you have experience in power generation, machine integration or automotive installation this would be considered.

Your main responsibility will be the delivery of an Industrial Power Unit (IPU) leading a team responsible for the delivery of multiple auxiliary engine systems.


Experience required:

  • Review, critique and advise on system Design. DFMEAs, DVPS and promote robust design documentation.
  • First level sign off on all mechanical system designs, drawings and reports
  • Provide technical leadership and direction throughout the Mechanical Systems team
  • Previous team leadership experience
  • Sound grasp of engine or machine product development cycle
  • Have expertise in engine integration, components specification, mechanical design, development and sign off
  • Able to manage various stakeholders and suppliers at all levels
  • Experienced in cross functional team management

About you:

  • Previous management and technical leadership experience
  • Extensive experience of the full product mechanical design and development from concept to delivery
  • Ideally have experience of engine integration, intake/exhaust, and cooling systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of engines, powertrain or propulsion systems is ideal
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering
  • A degree in associated mechanical engineering discipline.
  • An outstanding grasp of the product development cycle and expertise in system and component specification, design, development and sign-off

We can offer this role at a Senior level for someone who would be looking to develop their skills and work up to a Principal level role.
