This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with the regional operations of a leading membership organisation. The Associate Director will work with the Regional Director to support members, grow the membership base and raise the profile in the East by building relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting on events and social media presence.

This is the ideal role for someone who is interested in helping regional businesses recover from the pandemic, navigate the changing political and economic landscape and achieve net zero ambitions. Having an interest in political and current affairs, business and the economy is a real plus!

Key responsibilities:

  • Looking after all regional members accounts, both big and small
  • Engagement and account management of relevant stakeholders
  • Growing the membership base in the region and achieve specific financial targets through focussed recruitment strategies
  • Develop networks within the East of England business community
  • Support policy colleagues with case studies from the membership that demonstrate how policy impacts competitiveness, helping influence debates in government
  • Facilitate events/roundtables/lunches/briefings focused on regional policy issues of relevance to members and effectively advocate the organisation

Skills and experience:

  • Strong track record of sales and account management from a business-to-business context
  • Comfortable using social media platforms to promote the regional and national activities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to develop good working relationships at a senior level
  • Comfortable in dealing with the media - specific media training will be provided
  • Ability to develop good working relationship with internal and external customers
  • Good knowledge of the regional, national and international economic and political climate
  • Relevant business background demonstrating commercial awareness
  • Demonstrate and deploy innovative sales techniques
  • Enthusiastic 'can do' attitude with an ability to sell an intangible product
  • Full driving license holder
