As the Collections Manager for this loan provider, you will be working closely with the Quality Assurance teams and the Operations Manager to plan, implement and report on the improvement of the business' collections strategy. This main objective of this role is to ensure the continued delivery of excellent collections results whilst keeping the best interest of customers at heart.

As the organisation gears up for rapid growth, this role would greatly suit someone with call centre experience, ideally gained within the credit or loans industry, that is eager to expand their skillset further into a managerial position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Develop new and improve existing collections policies and processes to both improve the effectiveness of the function and ensure compliance
  • Continually work to design, develop and deliver new collections strategies to aid the business
  • Assist the operations manager to plan for hiring for the contact centre, including dedicated collections team members
  • Train staff and supervise and manage all collections activity in the contact centre
  • Alongside the QA Manager and other management staff, inclusive of HR and L&D, manage performance through call listening, observation, coaching, 1-2-1 reviews and appraisals

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working in a collections team - gained within the consumer credit industry
  • Experience of creating and implementing a collections strategy
  • 3+ years working in a heavily regulated industry
  • Excellent understanding of the consumer credit and/or loans industry
  • Experience implementing collections strategies and taking a lead in taking strategic input from management to develop into working plans and actions
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to understand detailed and complex information
  • Strong time management skills, communication ability and interpersonal and managerial skills
  • Educated to degree level or possess relevant experience
