As the Policy Manager (economics) you will manage the organisation's strategy to demonstrate the economic importance of the sector and lead the regular engagement with Government economists across relevant departments including HM Treasury. You will lead their economic research, data and analysis for policy evaluation and commercial research activities across the whole of the organisation. In addition, you will support their teams to raise their economic research capability.
The role will involve monitoring policy and economic developments, managing the design and delivery by the wider team of economic research, and raising their economic profile by promoting the economic impact through engagement with key stakeholders and the media.
Graduate degree and/or professional qualification in economics, research, politics, international relations or similar discipline
Proven professional experience in economic research, policy development or project management, gained in a Government department or a corporate/political/trade association or consultancy environment
Politically aware with a knowledge of UK political processes
Strong analytical, organisational, project management and presentational/written skills knowing how to communicate comfortably with committees, stakeholders and media activities (the latter not essential as training can be given), adapting to diverse audiences
Ability to learn quickly and evaluative judgment to provide specialist advice
Highly motivated team player with a hands-on attitude
Excellent networking skills with the ability to build and retain relationships
