Our client are a leading UK membership body tackling high profile issues in energy and automotive policy.

Working as part of an established policy and corporate affairs function, this Public Affairs Manager will proactively promote awareness of key issues their industry, which include the Environment, Technology, Trade and Financing

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on communication of policy issues and subjects across all areas of relevance to the sector
  • Managing relationships with a diverse range of industry stakeholders as well as MPs and Government departments
  • Shaping communications campaigns, consistently improving on existing approaches
  • Writing copy to aid the wider policy team, using a variety of channels to support the organisation's engagement programme, inclusive of white papers, position papers, speeches, presentations, webinars and manifestos
  • Representing the organisation in internal and external activities including conferences, workshops, roundtables and committees

Successful candidates will require:

  • Sound knowledge of UK national and local policy-making and political process with experience of having built relationships with political and professional decision makers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into creative narrative
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and running effective campaigns
  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Some experience of working in environment, business, energy or transport would be valuable
