This position will play a key role in leading the organisations efforts in securing additional support for UK exporters to help drive Government strategy.

The role involves working with the organisation's policy experts, members and a wide range of stakeholders to help communicate the industry's economic importance.

Ideal for someone with a minimum 2 years' experience, maybe at executive level looking for a step up.

Essential requirements:

  • Graduate degree in politics, international relations, economics or similar equivalent
  • Knowledge of wider economic policy, economic research and/or analysis
  • Professional experience in UK and EU public affairs and policy development, gained in a corporate, trade association, consultancy environment or government department
  • Knowledge of political processes and a firm grasp of key public policy issues affecting the manufacturing sector particularly in relation to exports and supply chains
  • Strong analytical, organisational, project management, presentational and written skills with the ability to credibly represent in committees and stakeholder discussions, and communicate effectively to diverse audiences
  • Ability to learn quickly and solve problems
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work across a variety of different policy areas and teams, managing conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to build and retain relationships and develop opportunities to collaborate with key external stakeholders
