Our client is a market-leading membership body, which focuses its project work on cultural, business and economic issues across the UK, such as the improvement of public awareness of demographic differences. They support public interest through the constant review of methodology in an increasingly complicated world.
They are currently looking for a Senior Policy Manager to join a broad team of policy and communications specialists. You will be working in close contact with the organisation's director and vice president, while simultaneously line managing a junior subject specialist.
As Senior Policy Manager, you will be working on wide variety of projects, liaising closely with members to provide consultations responses and regularly reporting on policy developments in these areas to partner organisations. You will also maintain strong relationships with and act as first port of call for key internal and external stakeholders and closely monitor political developments from Parliament, Government and elsewhere. There will be the occasional expectation to provide a secretariat-style service for an advisory group.
You will need:
strong experience of evidence-based policy development
clear written and verbal communication skills - making detailed policy accessible
prior experience line-managing a team
evidence of stakeholder engagement in previous roles
solid analytical and report writing skills
a finger on the pulse of political and market developments
