Overview

Murray McIntosh is delighted to have partnered with a highly reputable, national trade association which champions the interests of those working within the employment and skills industries. This Association are seeking a Public Affairs Officer to join their hardworking team in London.

This Public Affairs Officer position will focus on campaigns and policy work, supporting the rest of the team in public affairs matters, campaign planning and governmental engagement amongst other assisting responsibilities. Central to the role is identifying, understanding, and analysing issues affecting our members. The successful candidate will work with dedicated professionals on labour market issues related to education as well as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

In your first few weeks in this Public Affairs Officer role, you can expect to:

  • Represent members views externally and through strategic relationships with key stakeholders
  • Develop effective and workable policy proposals and solutions using feedback from members
  • Use your knowledge of parliament to monitor relevant policy developments and take initiative to develop campaigns that will affect change for members
  • Analyse and translate complex policy and legislative issues into straight-forward communications for different audiences.

To apply for this Public Affairs Officer role, you will need a minimum of a year's experience in Parliamentary and/or a Public Affairs role. You will also require the following:

  • An understanding of UK parliamentary processes
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience and campaign development and management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An interest in education and EDI matters
