The retail sector is playing a vital role in the UK's transition to a net zero economy. As climate policy continues to evolve and businesses face increasing expectations around carbon reduction, reporting and sustainability performance, retailers are seeking practical solutions to address shared challenges and accelerate progress towards climate goals.

We're seeking a Sustainability Policy Adviser to lead the BRC's climate policy portfolio, supporting the delivery of the Climate Action Roadmap whilst helping retailers navigate a rapidly changing policy and regulatory environment.

You'll lead the development of policy positions across climate and, net zero priorities, representing retailers with government, regulators and industry stakeholders. The role includes responsibility for key climate policy areas including climate reporting, disclosure requirements and engagement with bodies such as DESNZ and the Net Zero Council.
Working closely with members, you'll develop consultation responses, policy briefings and practical guidance that translates complex climate policy into actionable insight. You'll also play a central role in shaping and delivering the BRC's Climate Action Roadmap, helping businesses progress towards net zero ambitions and address challenges across supply chains and Scope 3 emissions.
The role also involves convening retailers and external stakeholders through working groups, events, webinars and collaborative initiatives that promote knowledge sharing, industry leadership and collective action on climate challenges.

Helped us to meet demand & deadlines!
Murray McIntosh helped us during a very busy period.
At that time we required experienced electricians to assist us with cutting cables, assembling complex multi-core cables, soldering, and panel wiring. Murray McIntosh helped us to meet demand & deadlines by introducing us to qualified individuals in the area who were able to jump on board with the availability and skillsets we required.

The Murray McIntosh team are absolutely outstanding in attention to detail and never giving up on the values all recruitment specialists should aspire to be like.
I must say that over the past 40yrs of working at some of this countries biggest and most prestigious projects (and industry) I have in all of those years had many agencies working to get me the right position and if that position didn’t work out they ran for the hills!!
A unique situation to put someone in so trust has to be defining, but now to the agency recruitment specialist Murray McIntosh, after being let down and leaving a position early even though it was supposed to be long term, the team kept the pressure on and said they would do their best. 3-4 months later I am now working for that same company in a better position! They are absolutely outstanding in attention to detail and never giving up on the values all recruitment specialists should aspire to be like.
Murray McIntosh are a credit to the profession and I can’t them enough for giving me the opportunities they had promised and come through with.
Bravo!!

They are very proactive in offering CVs and managing them through the online portals to get them in front of me for review, they are also quick to act when making offers and securing start dates. They were supportive on the occasion a candidate wasn’t performing and provided sound guidance on the way forward.
