Project Solutions Manager

£500-£530 per Daily

Overview

Supported by a multidisciplinary team, the PSM uses their technical knowledge, sector experience, and interpersonal skills to lead projects from concept through to client-approved solutions. Understanding client needs in depth, they challenge conventional delivery methods to identify the most efficient, sustainable approach-guided by a hierarchy of solutions.

Success in this role requires water industry experience and the ability to think creatively and strategically to develop innovative project solutions. The PSM will also continuously build knowledge by engaging with a variety of projects and capturing lessons learned throughout delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a problem-solving mindset and a desire to innovate. The role offers flexible hybrid working, including remote work, office collaboration 2-3 days a week, and occasional site visits across the region.

  • Assess incoming project requests to clearly understand client requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify and engage the appropriate stakeholders and form the project team.
  • Conduct site visits to gather direct insights and contextual understanding of each project.
  • Collect and analyse necessary data to support the development of effective project solutions.
  • Identify enabling works, required surveys, constraints, risks, opportunities, and other factors to complement available information.
  • Generate potential solutions through data interpretation, root cause analysis, and creative problem-solving, applying sound engineering principles.
  • Continuously challenge conventional approaches, seeking innovative alternatives that enhance value, buildability, efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainability, while minimising environmental and social impact.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling project presentations to stakeholders to determine preferred solutions.
  • Develop detailed project plans for the solution stage, including timelines and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with internal delivery teams and relevant standards.
  • Monitor project progress, flag potential changes, and contribute to regular performance reporting.
  • Lead the production of solution-stage documentation and deliverables for the selected approach.
  • Operate in line with established project management practices and organisational procedures.
