Murray McIntosh partnership with Energy UK
As the energy sector continues to evolve, it needs the talent to match, and that’s why we have formed a unique partnership with Energy UK; one of the UK’s largest and most prominent industry bodies.
The future of energy is changing. Within the last 30 years, coal-powered generation has reduced dramatically while wind and solar have emerged as a leading source of energy production. As the energy sector continues to evolve, it needs the talent to match, and that’s why we have formed a unique partnership with Energy UK; one of the UK’s largest and most prominent industry bodies.
Going green
The UK Government aims to slash emissions by 78 per cent by 2035, promising ambitious change in the energy sector. Energy UK is one of the key organisations working closely with central government, regulators, and members to help make this initiative a reality and champion a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable energy industry.
Households and businesses currently spend over £55 billion on energy per year. As the leading trade association, Energy UK has a significant reach and impact within the industry, with its members delivering over 80 per cent of the UK’s power generation and energy supply. Its vision is for a sustainable energy sector where infrastructure powers the zero-carbon economy and customers receive excellent service at affordable prices.
This partnership is an opportunity to help shape the energy sector’s approach to regulation and compliance, by sourcing the best talent to inform, develop, and communicate future policy to the communities Energy UK serves. By working with Energy UK, we are supporting its aim to build an energy industry that is both successful today and able to invest in a better tomorrow.
Always evolving
In the UK, the energy sector accounts for more than two per cent of the entire workforce, employing 738,000 workers and rising. Energy UK’s members include partners from across the industry, from energy suppliers and large power generators to companies providing technologies and service in heat, transport or power.
The world has started to open back up, and firms have begun recruiting in earnest once more. As Energy UK supports its members with delivering on UK decarbonisation, now is a critical time to work in energy.
