Industrial Electrician's Mate / Electrical Mate / Electrical Improver - Water Treatment
Location: Bristol, South West (commutable from Bath, Filton, Avonmouth, Portishead, Newport, Gloucester, Swindon)
Rate: £18.00 - £22.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Up to 50 hours per week + overtime
Job Type: Contract (Long-Term - Up to 5 Years)

We are recruiting Industrial Electrician's Mates / Electrical Improvers to support installation and maintenance works at a busy water treatment plant.
This is a long-term contract opportunity offering consistent hours, overtime and work secured for up to 5 years.
This role is ideal for improvers with industrial site experience who want stable work on a major infrastructure project.
The Role - Electrical Mate / Electrical Improver (Contract)
You will be supporting Industrial Electricians with installation and maintenance across plant equipment in a live utilities environment.
Duties include:
- Assisting with installation of containment (tray, ladder rack, trunking)
- Pulling and routing SWA and control cabling
- Glanding and terminating cables (under supervision where required)
- Assisting with installation of motors, pumps and control panels
- Supporting testing and commissioning activities
- Maintaining safe working standards on a live industrial site
This is industrial electrical work within a water treatment environment - not domestic or commercial.
Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
- ECS Card (essential)
- Proven experience as an Electrician's Mate or Electrical Improver
- Experience on industrial or construction sites
- Ability to read basic electrical drawings
- Strong understanding of containment and cabling
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition (beneficial)
- Previous water treatment, utilities or heavy industrial experience
Applicants must have previous site experience. Trainees without site experience will not be considered.
