Overview
Murray McIntosh are currently searching for a Component Engineer on behalf of a client based in Cheltenham.
In this role you would be responsible for providing electronic component support for the client's internal engineering teams.
Your main responsibilities would be to undertake component level analysis for the compatibility of alternate components because of obsolescence/long lead-times/minimum order quantity (MOQ) limitations/excessive quoted cost etc. and produce reports from BOMs.
This role is a full-time role that would require the ability to work on site. Working from home may be available on an ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities:
- Provide electronic component engineering support.
- Undertake component level analysis.
- Make recommendations of alternate internationally recognised materials/standards.
- Create component obsolescence reports from product Bills of Materials (BOMs) for external customers.
- Maintain the Component Management Information Systems (CMIS)
Experience required:
- A degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in a technical subject or significant industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in an electronic component engineering support role within a manufacturing environment.
- Able to use MS Office applications and ERP systems.
- Aerospace/Defence/Marine component experience is desirable.
- Able to travel within the UK if required.
