Overview
Murray McIntosh are currently searching for a Principal Radar Engineer to join a key client in the defence industry as detailed below:
In this role you would be helping to develop radar and monitoring systems. The products the company designs and manufactures are non-lethal.
You would be the primary point of contact & the technical authority for Radar Systems within the group and be responsible for driving development to keep company products competitive. You will also assist in developing the product roadmap and managing other members of staff.
This role is hybrid, working 3 days a week on site and 2 from home.
Responsibilities:
- Apply and communicate your expert knowledge of radar systems, RF and associated techniques, architectures, and technologies to all levels of the business.
- Co-ordinate technical delivery and act as a technical authority for multiple work packages and programmes.
- Radar architecture and RF development and integration.
- Develop radar signal processing algorithms.
- Conduct field trials and data capture campaigns.
- Assess radar performance prediction, assessment and improvement.
- Act as the primary contact for sales and systems engineering staff.
- Oversee technical requirements and specifications ensuring they are verified and validated.
- Deliver technical presentations & reports to stakeholders.
- Liaise with sub system suppliers and ensure performance requirements are met.
Experience required:
- A master's or bachelor's degree.
- MATLAB and digital signal processing experience.
- Pulse compression, doppler filtering, CFAR and detection.
- Embedded software, Linux, FPGA, RF, antenna and electronics experience.
- Programming in C, C++ would be desirable.
- Record of leading large and complex analysis design projects within time and budget.
- Radar video or image processing plot extraction and tracking.
- Systems engineering life cycle.
